We live in a large city and our community is very spread out. This means that through our Connect Group structure we want to focus on building relationships and networks of mutual support.
Paul called us to build up one another (Romans 14:19 + 1 Thessalonians 5:11) and to care for one another (1 Corinthians 12:25) - this is what we are ALL called to do!
In the book of Acts, the church met both in the temple (equivalent to our Sunday meeting) to worship together and in homes (Acts 2:46; Acts 5:42).
Connect Groups are a place of fellowship (Matthew 18:20), protection (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) and to learn and grow (Proverbs 27:17).
In Connect Groups we fellowship, we care about our spiritual growth, we look for opportunities to serve in the Kingdom of God, we evangelise and we have time for worship and prayer.
Our Connect groups come together in different ways - we don't have a prescribed formula!
This means that a group can be a group of friends, or a group of people who share a particular ministry and want to do it together (and grow in ministry together), or a group of people with similar interests (e.g. rock climbing, creative arts, Bible study - there is no limit).
All we ask is that the Bible is read at each meeting and that group members pray for and practically care for each other.
